Members of the Guthrie County SESS Range Finders 4-H club had 3 big events in August!
The first event was volunteering to work the DNR rifle range at the Iowa State Fair on August 9th. 10 members spent the day working with other young people teaching them which eye is dominant, rifle safety and how to shoot their rifles. The DNR staff always appreciates our help as our members do an outstanding job!

The second event was holding our annual club tour and August meeting. Members have the opportunity to host the club at their house to showcase their upcoming county fair projects, animals or static, and have an opportunity to give any presentations to the club needed for awards. It is a long day but very fun! We visited members houses all over the county, those projects included: Trey/ Trever Derry, Jalen Michaelson, Ruby Hummel, Abby/ Michelle Brooks, Bryce Betts, Sally Jo Geckler, Emma/ Kael Rutledge, ending at Anna/Max/Parker Owens with a potluck meal and games.

The last event of the month was attending the SESS State Shoot. 8 Interested members spent a day at the Brownell’s Range near Montezuma Iowa participating with members from all over the state for the top 4 spots in each discipline. Those making the top 4 spots are then eligible to attend the SESS Nationals June 2019 in Grand Island Nebraska. It is a great experience for everyone!
