VOLLEYBALL POSTSEASON

The Panorama and West Central Valley volleyball programs began postseason play this week.

The Guthrie County squads are both placed in Class 2A, region 3. The Panthers (16-11 overall) finished in a tie for third in the West Central Activities Conference with a 7-3 record along with AC/GC.

West Central Valley (7-12 overall), finished ninth out of 10 teams with a record of 2-8.

Des Moines Christian captured the conference title with a spotless record, securing their 10-0 run with a three-set sweep of Panorama Oct. 11.

PHS was just a game back of DMC entering play last week, but dropped consecutive matches to Woodward-Granger and the Lions to finish at 7-3.

Senior Brooke Halterman finished third in the WCAC in kills with 208 while WCV’s Hailee Scott was second in blocks with 89. WCV’s Madison Waddell was second in total digs with 282. WCV was first in team blocks with 286.

Panorama hosted Van Meter in the first round of regional play Tuesday, results were not available at press time. The winner is set to take on Earlham at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 in Earlham.

West Central Valley squared off against AHSTW Tuesday, Oct. 16 in Avoca. That winner is set to take on eighth-ranked Treynor (30-7) Oct. 22 in Treynor.

The regional semifinals are set for Oct. 25 in Treynor.
