A 25-year-old Guthrie Center man is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old boy early this month, according to court records.
James Lee Rasmussen faces two felonies, each punishable by up to 10 years in prison, for the alleged sex crimes and three misdemeanors for sending photos of his genitalia to the boy, court records show.
“Did you have a good time the other night?” Rasmussen allegedly said to the boy over Facebook after the encounter.
Court documents show the two sent each other several other private messages on the social media platform that indicate the two engaged in sexual activity.
A law enforcement officer found the messages after the boy went home in a pair of men’s shorts after purportedly spending the night at a friend’s house and was acting strangely, court records show.
Rasmussen allegedly sent three photos of his penis to the boy after and called him “babe” several times in the messages, ultimately asking the boy to send a picture of his erect penis. The boy declined.
An interview with someone at Blank Children’s Hospital last week revealed that the boy had spent time with Rasmussen in November and that they had kissed. The boy spent two nights with Rasmussen early this month, and in one of those overnights Rasmussen is accused of having sex with the boy.
