It was mainly routine matters when the Guthrie County board of supervisors met last Tuesday with several appointed officials, as usual, appearing before the board.

Airport - Lance Levis of Lake Panorama was named to the Guthrie County Regional Airport Authority board and will serve as treasurer. The resignation of Chris Brault from the board was accepted.

Guthrie Center recently named Matt Derry to the board as its representative. They along with Panora and Yale each name one rep to the board and the supervisors appoint two members.

Board president Marshall Burgess said more information will be forthcoming on replacing the airport runway. This is a $3 million project with $300,000 in local funds needed to go with federal funding. The Lake

Panorama Association, also, will eventually remove two wells from airport property.

Conservation - After much discussion with Joe Hanner, Guthrie County Conservation Board director, the consensus was to place $13,268 from trail receipts into a Conservation Reserve Fund, to be acted

on a the next meeting. Transferring over $30,000 of conservation board money from the county’s restricted use fund will be decided on later.

Engineer - A request from county engineer Josh Sebern for a $850,000 Tax Increment Financing (TIF) advance was approved, to be used for ongoing projects and a bridge project. A payroll change was okayed

for James Jones as he’s going from laborer to grader operator.

Also - The sheriff’s office was authorized to increase the charge to cancel a sheriff’s sale from $50 to $75.

Brandon Thompson, facilities manager, reported he is looking into the price of several security cameras along with getting estimates for repairing the courthouse elevator.

Auditor Marci McClellan informed the board Anna Buttler is the interim part-time clerk of court, serving Dallas County also. Formerly Guthrie and Adair counties shared a clerk, who now serves Adair alone.
