EmiSunshine is a teen music prodigy; a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has graced some of the most prestigious stages - from the “Today Show,” to the Grand Ole Opry (over a dozen times), and most recently, “Little Big Shots starring Steve Harvey” last April.
Emi’s music has been described as “old-timey,” equal parts Americana, Bluegrass, Gospel, and Country, with a sprinkle of Blues. Celebrities such as Loretta Lynn, Tim McGraw, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart and The Grateful Dead (to name just a few) sing the praises of EmiSunshine. Since her breakout at just nine years old, Emi has garnered more than 14 million YouTube views and a half million Facebook followers.
Born Emilie Sunshine Hamilton, she starred and performed three songs in the 2017 film “The King,” alongside such celebrities as Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Ethan Hawke, Alec Baldwin and Ashton Kutcher. The film is a portrait and musical story told from the back seat of Elvis Presley’s 1963 Rolls Royce. EmiSunshine said of the film experience: “We were all stuffed into the backseat of a hot car, with our instruments for more than six hours…driving the streets of Nashville. It was probably the most uncomfortable and best car ride I’ve ever had. …gives new meaning to the word ‘jammin’!“
EmiSunshine’s performance on Sunday, November 11 at 2:00 pm is part of the WCC’s 2018-1019 Premier Series. Tickets available at warrenculturalcenter.com or Ed & Eva’s 641-743-2566.
