Dale Edward Stetzel, 91, son of Maynard & Grace (Reinhart) Stetzel, was born August 24, 1927 in Viola Township, Audubon County, Iowa. He passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the New Homestead in Guthrie Center, Iowa.

Dale attended country schools. He enlisted into the United States Army during WWII. On October 8, 1950, he married Maxine Ann Hain at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Casey, Iowa. They made their home on the family farm south of Casey. Dale was a hardworking farmer all his life and wouldn’t have had it any other way. He loved the land and his family. He became a resident of the New Homestead Assisted Living, Guthrie Center, in October of 2016.

Dale enjoyed fishing and being with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Casey.

Dale is survived by his children, Becky (Mike) Moore of Panora; Barbara Stetzel of Windsor Heights; and Larry (Tracy) Stetzel of Casey; grandchildren, Cara (Brandon) Esau, James Stetzel, Connor (Ashley) Moore, and Leah (Adam) Lyons; great-grandchildren, Miles & Sloan Esau, Elin Moore, and Rosalyn & Vivian Lyons; sister-in-law, Audrey Stetzel and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maxine in 2009, infant granddaughter Paige Stetzel, brothers, Don (Jean) Stetzel, Dallas Stetzel, Delbert (Wavah) Stetzel, Bill Stetzel, and sister, Shirley (Kenneth) Siedelmann.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Casey. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5-7 P.M. with family present at the Twigg Funeral Home, Guthrie Center.
